Muskurane Ki Wajah Tum Ho

June 4, 2022

The story of an unmarried mother who questions society and the system about why a child needs a father’s name is at the heart of the new series Muskurane Ki Wajah Tum Ho. Title borrowed from popular Arijit Singh’s song from the movie Citylights, Muskurane Ki Wajah Tum Ho  is a love story of two people: ‘Katha’ from the hills of Nainatal and ‘Kabir’ from the deserts of Udaipur. Two people from different places with same mindset. Their lives coincide and soon part, leaving Katha as an unmarried mother.

The show looks promising in bringing out new kinds of story lines. The first few episodes have already established the major characters of the show, along with the lead characters Katha and Kabir. Kabir is a suave businessman, while Katha is an opinionated, strong-headed woman working in an NGO. Soon, the courtship phase of the story line is expected to begin. So far, the series’ pace and dialogue appear to be on track. The makers have stuck to their main plot instead of meandering away with unwanted subplots. If the makers truly stick to the main plotline, then we can expect it to be a hit show.

Kunal Jai Singh, of Ishqbaaz fame, plays the character of ‘Kabir’. He looks handsome and fits perfectly for the role of a suave businessman. Tanvi Malhara, a debutant, plays the role of ‘Katha’. Despite being a newcomer, she seems to have no inhibitions while essaying the character of Katha—an optimistic and adamant girl. Apart from them, there is Neha Narang, of Sasural Genda Phool fame, playing the role of Kabir’s sister with some negative shades.

So far, the show is entertaining and I hope it clicks with everyone if it doesn’t fall into the trap of sub-plot antics to increase TRP.

Teekhi Chachi the chirpy, loud and at times obnoxious gal pal is all about being couch potato. Be it romance drama or reality shows she loves to watch every episode twice, ooh... did I forget 'Saas Bahu' melodrama ?
